Kindergarten Enrichment
Session 1
As autumn unfolds, we'll spend six weeks exploring the beauty of the changing season through nature, stories, songs, art, and hands-on discovery. Inspired by Montessori, Charlotte Mason, and nature-based learning, our days are filled with meaningful experiences that preserve the wonder of childhood while gently building kindergarten readiness.
Children will strengthen early literacy and math foundations through playful, hands-on activities while enjoying circle time, Student of the Week, nature walks, outdoor play, practical life skills, sensory invitations, art projects, seasonal crafts, songs, and meaningful friendships.
Every day is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture a lifelong love of learning in a warm, predictable classroom community.

Session 1:
Pioneer Life: A 6-Week Living History Adventure
Step back in time as we journey into the world of Little House in the Big Woods. Together we'll discover what life was like for pioneer families through hands-on projects, nature study, cooking, and storytelling.
Students will:
-
Build a pioneer log cabin together
-
Make applesauce, fresh butter, homemade bread, and soup over a fire
-
Learn beginning hand sewing and practical life skills
-
Explore the forest to study trees, wildlife, and seasonal changes
-
Discover how food was grown, preserved, and prepared before electricity
-
Make beeswax candles and experience daily life on the frontier
-
Enjoy rich read-alouds from Little House in the Big Woods while bringing history to life through immersive projects
Rather than memorizing facts, students will experience history the way pioneer children lived & working with their hands, exploring nature, solving problems, and building practical skills that connect the past to the present.
Class does require 15-20 minutes of reading two nights a week. It can be read independently or together.
Forest Friends
Fridays 10:00-12:00
Slow down, explore, and experience the wonder of nature together.
Forest Friends is a parent-and-child class designed to nurture curiosity, connection, and a love of the outdoors through seasonal adventures. Each gathering includes a story time, simple hands-on activity, process art or craft, games, and plenty of time for unstructured outdoor play and meaningful friendships.
Together we'll splash in puddles, search for animal tracks, discover woodland creatures, celebrate the changing seasons, create with natural materials, and make lasting memories.
Perfect for children ages 0–5 and their caregiver, however the entire family is welcome. Forest Friends offers a gentle, welcoming community where little ones can explore at their own pace while parents connect with other families who share a love for nature and preserving childhood.
